Who we are

Apoiojuridico-Imigração is an independent news site about Portuguese immigration and AIMA, run by TwoSpouts Media. We decide how the personal data collected on this site is used, so we are its controller. For anything about your data, email hello@twospouts.com.

What we collect and why

The eligibility quiz

When you take the quiz we collect your answers (where you live, your visa type, how long you have been waiting, your contact with AIMA, your documents and how urgent your situation is, plus anything you add yourself) and your name, email address and, if you give it, your phone number. We use them to show and email you your result and, where your case may be one a lawyer can help with, to put you in touch with an independent immigration law firm in Portugal that we work with. We do this because you asked us to when you submitted the quiz.

The guide

If you sign up for the guide we use your email address to send it to you, and occasionally to tell you about meaningful changes to AIMA procedures. You can unsubscribe at any time.

Analytics

We measure how the site is used with two privacy-friendly analytics tools that we run ourselves. They don't set cookies and don't store your IP address; they record the pages you view, the site that referred you, your country and your type of device. When you submit the quiz, we link your submission to your visit, so we can see which articles help people find the help they need. We do this in our legitimate interest in running and improving the site. We don't use advertising trackers.

Who we share it with

We don't sell your data or share it with anyone else, and we don't use it for advertising.

Some of these providers are based in the United States. Where your data is transferred outside the European Economic Area or the UK, it is protected by the providers' standard contractual clauses or the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.

How long we keep it

We keep your quiz details for as long as we need them to put you in touch with a lawyer and follow up, and delete them sooner if you ask us to. Guide sign-ups are kept until you unsubscribe.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, to delete it, to restrict or object to how we use it, or to receive it in a portable format. Where we rely on your request or consent, you can withdraw it at any time. Email hello@twospouts.com and we will reply within one month.

If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Portuguese data protection authority, the CNPD, or to the authority where you live.
